Universal Design Workshop

The session will consist of a theoretical presentation of the principles of universal design (UD) (with opportunities for interaction) and a practical session. To inform the workshop, the presenter will draw on her own research as well as the published literature.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Identify the principles of universal design present or absent in everyday objects and settings
  • Appraise the characteristics of assistive technology in light of universal design principles
  • Apply their new knowledge in solving problem-based exercises.

  1. Presentation. Principles of universal design and user-centred design.
  2. Practical session.
